We’ve Moved Into the New Office in NOTO!

We’re still unpacking boxes, finalizing furniture purchases, signage and other details BUT we’re finally in! It’s been a major process of renovating the building. When we purchased there was a gaping hole in the roof, frogs jumping around in the muck of the floor, mold, settling foundations, etc. Since that time, we replaced the roof, added skylights, 7” of closed cell insulation, electrical, water, sewer, HVAC and all new finishes.

The building is located directly across the street from the bookstore in NOTO. We’re near a breweries, a premiere sandwich shop, a soul food restaurant, antique shops, parks, event spaces, and more! Our staff really loves being able to walk to all these amenities in a historic area of Topeka.

It was a really educational process to go through a major construction project from the Owner/Clients perspective. Just like us on this project, Clients are making hard decisions, spending money, taking risks. It’s not easy.

We began this process in 2019, shortly after Bryan Falk purchased this building and the two adjoining buildings. We took our time with the design to make sure the improvements “stuck”. We had to evaluate the sanity of repairing the foundations and adding all new utilities/finishes in a location that most other building owners aren’t pouring the same amount of money into their projects. Covid happened and slowed us down even more. It’s finally nearly completed and the it was worth the wait for us. We think it was a good move. We’re really enjoying having a space we’re not embarrassed to have clients visit us in!

There will be an Open House sometime in the future where we’ll invite our Clients, friends, family, etc.!

Jiabao going over project details with Bryan in the new office. Books and boxes are still getting unpacked, but it already feels like a huge upgrade for us.
